Glad that you will volunteer to help fight these kinds of violations. TDU is holding a conference call on Sunday, Feb 15 at 5 PM. Anyone interested in hearing reports on this problem from around the country and discussing plans for a national campaign to pressure our union to enforce the contract, please contact the TDU office at 718-287-3283. Local 182 Upstate New York. Four out of six 22.3 jobs have been changed, also rate of pay reduced to inside part timer pay. Bids have eliminated one 22.3, reducing to five total in building. Excuse was, that the job was being moved to a main hub. I have filed many valid grievances of these issues, only to have them snubbed at local, state, and national. Any support that is needed for exposure, I will be most happy to volunteer.

Lets keep up the fight! If any of you were a part of the Conf. Call this last weekend, you know we have a voice. Get your personal stories, and pictures of people affected in your area. Then send them off to David at TDU. The pressure needs to be put on the International to do the right thing for all of us.

With the closing of the Columbia Air hub midnight shift, no 22.3 jobs were lost. Those jobs were moved over to the ground hub if they needed to be. The people really affected by the closing were the part timers. Those who had the seniority were dovetailed into the ground hub and the rest were laid off.

Local 957 out of Dayton Oh. is also doing nothing. We had a guy with over 30 years pass away a couple of weeks ago. They are being real quiet. Maybe we will just go somewhere. Quit asking questions. They are still checking. Thats the answers we are getting in Spfld. Oh. Our building is dirty. They say we have too many car wash hours. You may as well just give up and take it though. UPS is going to do what ever they want with the Teamsters blessing. Always have and always will. Most people are so afraid for their jobs and if you dare question the Teamster Union. You are a bad person. People all over the country have to stick together. It is the only way. But you have to be prepared to be labeled a traitor. The Teamsters dare you to question their authority on whatever they do.

But you have to be prepared to be labeled a traitor. The Teamsters dare you to question their authority on whatever they do. Like I said in another thread. Organize and get ready for your local Union's next election year. Make sure you vote them out of office. They think they are untouchable, but our power to vote them out of office will show them otherwise. My local says they have experience over any newcomers that want to run in the next election. But look what their "experience" has got me, no representation and Article 22.3 jobs are being eliminated without question. Their experience amounts to nothing! Anyone can read the contract and tell you what it says. But what matters is someone who is willing to uphold what it says!

In our building, after some of the article 22.3 guys retired their bids were never posted. We filed on it and the company said they moved them to another building.

Moved to another building? Can they prove it? Which building was it?

Last I heard the B/A was following up on it with the labor mgr., but he always stalls whenever we ask for information. The B/A seems reluctant to file labor charges.

As of Jan/2016. Part time employees who have been employed by UPS longer, now have seniority over Full time employees when it comes to bidding rights. This decision was made by Business Agent Greg Yerace his office is in Fairmont WV, 26554. This ruling has overturned a previous decision.
