Just curious to know what would happen if the president of my local was to resign would the members have the choice of electing a new president or does the IBT appoint a president until the term is up. The reason I ask, my current president has cancer. He has made it clear that he will be stepping down and now a new president has been appointed or at least a name has been floated around that this individual will take the current president place. Looking at my by laws, I do not see anything giving them this authority. I hope a mode or someone with experience can shed some light on this situation.
