Management has been going around fear mongering. They keep on saying the economy is bad. They harass members about a variety of things. They are trying to turn the screws. They are trying to use the economy as an excuse. They threaten with volume loss & job loss.
ups made over 5 billion dollars last year. They did that because they are paying people $8.50 to start. Now is not the time to give in to fear mongering. Now is the time to fight back. We need to hold them to the contract. We have given them enough. Now is the time for the working man to get a a fair share.

I feel the same way. They are using the "economy is bad" excuse to their advantage.
What UPS needs to do is layoff some managers, and the Union needs to layoff some business agents until the economy picks up!
But what will make the biggest difference is if more employees get familiar with the contract and file grievances to hold UPS and the Union responsible for any violations.

We need to apply the pressure back on UPS. Make them responsible with upholding the contract. Fight for the 22-3 jobs. Apply for unemployment as soon as possible. Continue to be the professionals that make us all number 1 in this industry!!!!

File grievances thats what I'm talkin about. Get yourself a pocket notebook. Write down(while your off the clock & not in a work area) what was being done & where. The time & who was doing it. Also who was a witness. Document, document, document.

As a new hire seasonal part timer I'll be honest. I don't know crap. But as a business owner for 15 years previously (totally different field) and having been in the military (USAF) for 6 years I've seen my share of bad management and so far, I may have gotten lucky but my Supe has been nothing but informative and encouraging. My crew (unloading and loading) are pretty cool too. I have met a bunch of people in my 52 years and would like to possibly continue with UPS and make it my new career. Don't know how much longer I can climb K-loaders and such but I think UPS is a quality company with many possibilities. I'm sure those that have been with UPS may think differently and I would like to hear the good with the bad, so feel free to tell me what I need to do next to stay on and prosper with this company.
