It seems like such a shame that our union allows so many obstacles for an employee to obtain a "standard work day". Seniority should be the determinating factor, period.

Really makes you wonder who our leaders are negotiating for? They keep whittling away at our rights and wonder why membership has continued to decline. It used to be that Union membership was a much higher standard. Those standards keep getting closer and closer to non-union standards. What's are selling point now? Givebacks and dues? We lose another freight carrier and we can't boast pension, all that will mean is more givebacks and no pension!

The frustration throughout rank and file members is evident! The 9.5 issues are just one of many serious task ahead of us!This is exactly why TDU members need to put forth every effort to recruit new members,so that rank and file members will know the truth and have a voice that is heard loud and clear!

Im not happy...Im waiting for the 8.5 guidelines! Even if a 9.5 day could be worked out ( remember: there is a difference between what Brown thinks is 9.5 and what we think it should be), Im still getting home at 7:45-8:00! At this point in my life I just want to see my kids while they are still young. I wonder how long it will be before management finds a way to slither onto this site!

The union gave complete control of the 9.5 issue to a UPS committee how stupid was that. They have lawyers for everything including screening contract language. And then re-negotiate contract language that was already in place. In my building a driver can opt in or opt out only if they have a bid route. Half our drivers don't have bid routes and cannot sign the list. The IBT has no place cutting deals with UPS, there not the ones working 11-12 hour days. The IBT is only looking out for themselves. They sold out the fulltime article 22.3's and now the drivers. What's next?

Maybe we all need to have these deals put to a vote by the membership before they are finalized by the IBT!!!!! Once we vote for a contract that should be in stone and the members need to have it as the by-laws to be able to vote on all changes made. We are the controling factors for our jobs. The IBT seems to be out of touch and lack the communication skills that we need to grow in numbers just isn't there. TDU is keeping us informed and connecting us together. Stay strong and stay one step ahead of UPS at all times.

If you look toward the end of article 37, it states that the "9.5 committee" has the authority to adopt guidelines. This means that THEY CAN change or add to the language without voting on it. This is why it is IMPERATIVE that we use this website as a stepping stone to something bigger and better. So we can learn from each other, and grow into something that is powerful enough to make waves and cause change. there was a small hint of it last contract, and I know it opened some eyes. We need to keep moving forward, stay focused and start thinking outside the box.

Thinking outside the box will most definitely mean NOT relying on business agents and grievances to solve anything regarding this issue.
Something bigger and better huh? Then we need to make the the world take notice of how UPS is running the company based on manipulating and taking advantage of its employees. We need to go get the word out to customers and the media. Maybe make an entire website with nothing but information on what really goes on inside UPS hubs across the nation. Like I said, show the world, everyone, how we are being treated by both the Union and UPS. I know TDU and MakeUPSdeliver give some info about what's going on. But we need a website that has more specifics and cold hard facts on what's going on locally and what employees face on a day to day basis. Drivers especially.
Contract language is just a joke when both sides are working together to take advantage of us. We pay union dues for what? It really is time we start to make some major waves.
